With the co-organization of the Region of Crete, Hellenic Sports Federation of Deaf, Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipality of Chersonissos the 14th European Deaf Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championship starts at Chersonissos.

The presentation of the 14th European Deaf Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championship, which will take place from 19 to 26 June 2021 at Lyttos Beach Tennis Academy at Chersonissos took place today as part of a press conference.

The games are co-organized by the Hellenic Sports Federation of the Deaf, Region of Crete, Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipality of Chersonissos, under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Sport and the Municipality of Chersonissos.

In the press conference, at the perfect sports facilities at Lyttos Beach Tennis Academy, the participants were Deputy Governor of Heraklion Nikos Syrigonakis, Mayor of Hersonissos Giannis Segkos, President of Hellenic Sports Federation of the Deaf & President of the European Deaf Sports Organization (EDSO) mr. Iosif Stavrakakis and Giannis Milakis President of the Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipality of Chersonissos, Aspasia Xaxiri EDTC2021 O.C. President referred to the importance of the games.

“I am so happy that Crete is a center of sporting events. After Rolang Garros, we have the 14th European Deaf Tennis Championship, here in Chersonissos and at Lyttos Beach Tennis Academy.  A European sport event that we could not make it without the support of specific people. Like the Regional Governor of Crete Stavros Arnaoutakis and the Deputy Regional Governor of Heraklion Nikos Syrigonakis. The Region of Crete once again stands by us being the Co-Organizer of this Championship. Our great surprise and joy was the cooperation for with the Municipality of Chersonissos and Mayor Giannis Segos, as well as with the President of the Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipality of Chersonissos, Ioannis Milakis. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, spectators are not allowed to attend during the European Deaf Tennis Champs.
